The EPL table is beginning to take shape and fans are now able to start predicting which clubs will face the drop to the Championship

The Premier League is always a thrilling spectacle for fans of football and Betting sites UK alike. However, for fans of some clubs, the season will end in tragedy as three of them are relegated from the league.

All three promoted teams were relegated straight back down last season, but that doesn't necessarily look like it will be the case this time around, with some of those new clubs performing quite well and some big names really struggling.

Let's take a look at who the bookies have as favourites to depart the Premier League at the end of this season.

Burnley (4/1 favourites)

Despite starting the season relatively well, Burnley remain favourites with the bookies for the drop.

After losing three consecutive games, including a 5-1 defeat by Manchester City, they bounced back with a 2-0 win against Leeds at the weekend, which lifted them out of the bottom three.

However, it's worth noting that both of their victories have come against other promoted sides. If they can beat long-time Premier League stalwarts Wolves in their next match, the narrative may change for Scott Parker's team.

Wolves (2/5)

Despite a brilliant turnaround under Vitor Pereira in the second half of last season, Wolves have had an absolute nightmare start to the 2025-26 campaign.

The Old Gold are the only team left in the division without a win. Their 2-0 loss to Sunderland at the weekend halted the progress made in successive draws with Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Their next game against Burnley could be a turning point for Pereira's tenure, either for better or worse. If they lose that, the club may be forced to act if they want to avoid bringing their long-term stay in the top flight to an end.

West Ham (10/11)

Despite replacing the flailing Graham Potter with Nuno Espirito Santo, West Ham have failed to improve their performances or pick up points.

They've gone five games without a win, including a 2-0 loss to Brentford and are only kept off the bottom by Wolves.

Despite being in the league for a long time, bookies fancy them to be the third team to be relegated, meaning only one of the three promoted clubs would face the drop.

Leeds (11/4)

In the eyes of the bookies, Leeds and Sunderland have what it takes to avoid relegation from the Premier League this season. While Leeds have impressed slightly less than the Black Cats, Daniel Farke's side have put in some good performances and are clear of the relegation zone heading into this weekend's fixtures.

Leeds' lack of cutting edge in attack was evident in their 2-0 defeat at fellow promoted side Burnley. Despite dominating possession and winning the shot count, they couldn't capitalise on their chances.

Things are still precarious for the Yorkshire club, but the bookmakers fancy them to grind out survival this term.

Sunderland (5/2)

Sunderland's odds reflect the excellent work being done by Le Bris at the Stadium of Light. They have recruited brilliantly, and their manager is finding the right formula to get the best out of his squad.

The Black Cats are 7th heading into this weekend, which represents a phenomenal start to this season. It's early days and they are, of course, still relegation candidates, but Sunderland fans have a right to be optimistic.

Their home performances remain crucial, having taken 10 points from a possible 12 on their own patch and making the Stadium of Light a fortress will be fundamental to any bid to avoid relegation this season.

Nottingham Forest (11/4)

Forest are third from bottom after losing to Chelsea 3-0 last weekend, a defeat which saw Ange Postecoglou lose his job after just five matches. The club have appointed Sean Dyche and they will surely hope he can spearhead them away from the relegation zone.

Their third manager of the season already, Dyche is very good at this particular task, and that explains why the bookies have the Tricky Trees so far away from their top three candidates for relegation.

They remain in the bottom three right now, which explains why they are on this list, but with the quality in their squad and a relegation specialist in Dyche at the helm, few will expect Forest to end up embroiled in a relegation battle at the end of the season.
