Jorginho’s future will be under big scrutiny in summer

Arsenal fans have been eagerly following the future of star midfielder Jorginho, whose contract with the club is set to expire in June this year. Amidst speculation about potential moves away from the club, his agent Joao Santos has recently shed some light on the situation.

In a positive turn for Arsenal supporters, Santos has confirmed that Jorginho is more than content at the club and wishes to continue his tenure there. This news comes as a relief for many who have been anxious about losing one of their key players.

 Joao Santos, Jorginho Agent, said:

"Contract expiring in June? Arsenal have our priority. Jorginho is very happy with his teammates, with Arteta and with Edu Gaspar.

"We will consider the proposals and decide what's the best option for his future."

Every time Jorginho has come on, he has proved his worth

Jorginho was signed from Chelsea in January last year in a deal reportedly worth £20 million. He quickly became an integral part of the first team due to recurring injuries to Thomas Partey and provided invaluable cover during some crucial games towards the end of last season.

Despite having a somewhat reduced role since Declan Rice's arrival, Jorginho has maintained his professionalism and commitment. Since joining Arsenal, he has made 41 appearances across competitions, scoring one goal and providing two assists. In this current season alone, he has made 25 appearances with one goal scored and another assisted.

Jorginho’s contribution extends beyond just numbers though; he is regularly featured in Arteta's midfield setup for games against big teams due to his ability to retain ball possession effectively. His impressive passing range also plays a critical role in unlocking Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli's pace on the flanks.

Jorginho brings that stability to Arsenal’s midfield

The confirmation that Jorginho wishes to stay put will undoubtedly be welcomed by both fans and management at Arsenal who could greatly benefit from retaining his expertise. At 32 years old, he brings not only skill but also experience which can be instrumental in guiding younger players while maintaining performance levels on field.

Jorginho's decision to stay at Arsenal is a positive development for the club. His contributions on and off the field have been significant, and his continued presence will likely be a key factor in Arsenal's future success.
