Pep Guardiola should be happy - very happy - with his team's performances thus far. Apart from an opening day shock defeat to Spurs, they've looked good. They hammered Arsenal 5-0, finally beat Thomas Tuchel's Chelsea and played out an enthralling 2-2 draw with Liverpool. City didn't quite have enough to beat PSG in the Champions League but that's a tall order for any side and they played very well in that game. Generally, they are looking really strong and on course to challenge at the very top of the table once again.
Burnley are languishing in 18th as one of only four teams in the Premier League yet to have won a match. Sean Dyche's side often start slow so this won't concern Clarets fans too much. Likewise, they won't be expecting anything from this fixture. Despite the general consensus that Burnley are a very tough to team to play against, Man City have beaten them eight straight times in all competitions and Burnley haven't caused an upset in this fixture since 2015.
In the running theme of South American players arriving late from international duty, City will likely miss Ederson in goal and Gabriel Jesus up front. While these are big, big misses for Pep's side, they have such fantastic squad depth that it shouldn't cause them too big a problem. USA international Zack Steffen is likely to deputise in the sticks and any number of their attacking options can slot into the front three. Burnley shouldn't be dealing with any significant absences, assuming that Ben Mee and new boy Maxwel Cornet are back and available for selection.
It's difficult to see anything but a home win here, even without Ederson and Jesus.
