Sky Sports has made a significant decision regarding former Manchester United midfielder, Roy Keane. Despite his recent altercation with an Ipswich Town fan following United's 1-1 draw, the network has confirmed that Keane will return to their screens this Sunday.
Footage emerged last Sunday showing a heated exchange between Keane and a supporter after Amorim's first game in charge. It is alleged that one fan escalated the situation by shouting obscenities from the upper tier of the stadium. In response, Keane invited the fan to meet him in the car park for further discussion.
In a video later posted online, he said: "It's no problem abusing me... [inaudible] meet me in the carpark to discuss it. I'll wait for you in the car park."
Despite this incident and initial uncertainty over his appearance, it appears that barring any late changes, Keane will continue as a pundit for Sky Sports' coverage on Merseyside.
Upcoming coverage on Super Sunday
Keane is set to be part of Sky Sports' Super Sunday line-up which includes Chelsea taking on Aston Villa at 1:30 pm kick-off. Simultaneously, Ruben Amorim will manage his first Premier League game at Theatre of Dreams with Reds facing Everton.
The Irishman will also be present at Anfield as part of their coverage for Liverpool's showdown with Manchester City in what promises to be an exciting Premier League match-up.
Investigation results remain confidential
According to reports from Daily Mail, Sky bosses have spoken not only with Roy Keane but also Kelly Cates, Jamie Redknapp and Izzy Christensen about this incident. However, they have remained tight-lipped over results of their investigation into this matter.
Regardless of these events and pending investigations results; it is confirmed that Keane will be in position at Anfield as Liverpool look to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League by 11 points.
Despite a recent altercation with a fan, Roy Keane's role as a pundit on Sky Sports remains secure. His presence in upcoming games promises to add an extra layer of excitement for sports fans and sports betting enthusiasts alike.
