The Manchester United legend said he needs a drink to sulk up the boredom

Manchester United legend, Roy Keane, recently made a surprising admission about his new tip to win the Premier League title. This came after the uneventful draw between Manchester City and Arsenal, two of the league's top contenders.

In an amusing turn of events, Keane humorously declared that he needed a drink after tipping Liverpool to win the Premier League. The former Manchester United captain and current Sky Sports pundit was asked for his prediction on who would be lifting the trophy in May following the lackluster goal-less draw between Manchester City and Arsenal.

Manchester United legend, Roy Keane, said:

“I’d go with… I’m going to go with Liverpool I think.”

Keane had previously backed Manchester City for this year’s title. However, he now believes that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will reclaim their crown for the first time since 2020.

Micah Richards questioned Keane's change of heart

Keane’s unexpected shift in allegiance sparked laughter among his Sky Sports pundits. Micah Richards playfully chided him saying: “You change your mind like the wind!”

Keane added:

“I’m not changing like the wind. I’d said Man City, but from what I’ve seen recently, I’m going to go with Liverpool. I can change next week if they get beaten.”

Liverpool is set to face Sheffield United at home next before heading off to Old Trafford. Their last encounter with Manchester United at Old Trafford ended with a sensational 4-3 defeat in FA Cup match recently.

Premier League title race about to hit sixth gear of thrill

This upcoming match could prove pivotal as it may either solidify or challenge Keane’s prediction about Liverpool taking home this year's Premier League title.

While predictions are always subject to change as matches unfold throughout any given season, it is interesting when such shifts come from seasoned football veterans like Roy Keane. His recent switch from backing Manchester City to favoring Liverpool has certainly added an extra layer of intrigue into this year’s race for the Premier League title.

Whether or not Liverpool can live up to these expectations remains uncertain but one thing is clear: the Premier League continues to be a thrilling spectacle for sports fans and sports betting enthusiasts alike.
