Barcelona head to Valencia to face Levante with the La Liga title race on a knife edge going into the last three games of the season

Affairs at the top of La Liga haven't been this interesting in quite some time. With title races wrapped up in most of Europe's other top leagues, Spain is the destination for a gripping final few games of the campaign. Atletico Madrid are two points clear of bitter rivals Real Madrid and Barcelona with every team knowing that any dropped points could be crucial in crowning this year's champions.

Form: Levante vs Barcelona

Levante have been safe from relegation for a while and appear to be coasting a little bit. They've lost four of their last five and will have nothing to play for. In terms of motivation, Barcelona will be the team with the real need to win. Their goalless draw against leaders Atletico Madrid at the weekend means they really cannot afford anything but three points here. They have three wins from their last five but are more than capable of slipping up, as they've done on many occasions this season, most recently in their shock home defeat by Granada. This is by no means vintage Barcelona but you should expect them to have too much against 14th place Levante.

Team News: Levante vs Barcelona

Jose Campana, Nemanja Radoja and Nikola Vukcevic remain unavailable for Levante but there are no new injury concerns to report for the side from Valencia. Sergio Busquets suffered a broken jaw in the game against Atletico after a clash of heads with Stefan Savic. The all-time great looked likely to miss out but sources now suggest he will play, perhaps in a face mask. Philippe Coutinho and Ansu Fati will definitely remain in the treatment room. Ousmane Dembele will challenge Antoine Griezmann for his position up front alongside Lionel Messi.

Prediction: Levante vs Barcelona

It's difficult to see anything other than a Barcelona win here. For many it will be a shock to even see Barca in the thick of a title race this far into the season. What could have been a disastrous campaign has turned out to be borderline acceptable for Ronald Koeman's side. Expectations were low with the squad clearly in transition but under Koeman the Catalans have improved and progress has been made, particularly with young players. Barcelona will want to end on a high. If they can win La Liga over Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, considering the picture last August, it must be considered a success, even by their lofty standards.

🎙️Koeman: "We play with two 18-year-olds in midfield and two 20-year-olds in defense. You have to keep everything in mind, and know where we come from. We've won a title and we've improved." pic.twitter.com/dWaww7nyGT

Levante, on the other hand, are - without sounding too dismissive - on the beach. Who can blame them? Their season is effectively over. Players will always tell you that they rise to the occasion and are always professional but how much motivation do they really have to pull off an upset here? However, Granada were in a similar position two weeks ago when they won at the Nou Camp, so Lionel Messi and his teammates ought not to take them too lightly.

Whether Levante go for it or not, Barca should be too good for them with the talent in their squad.

Prediction: Levante 0 - 3 Barcelona
